Faceblox is making a return. And it's going to be better than ever before.
Help us out! Our plan Join our Roblox groupHi. This is the Faceblox 2.0 team. We're hoping to recreate Faceblox, a
social networking service by Robloxians, for Robloxians. With the fall of the original in 2014 and
the collapse of the forums in 2017, there really aren't very many places to talk off-platform with
other players.
We want to change that with faceblox.net. Unlike the original (no
disrespect), we aren't going to just slap a custom domain onto free forum software. There's nothing
special about that. We're building it from the ground up for the community. It will be everything
the original had and more.
Servers aren't free. We hope to start it without spending
anything by using a fairly messy tech
stack. But without proper backend infrastructure, it's unlikely that we'll be able to
scale or accomplish all our goals. While our team is experienced in web development, a project this
big with no real backing would be almost impossible. That's why we're asking you. If you liked the
old Faceblox, or are just hoping for a way to talk to other Robloxians, please consider donating a
couple bucks or some Robux.
If you're a
developer with experience in anything we could use and are willing to help (front/backend web
development, Firestore, OAuth2, social algorithms, etc.), please let us know.
If you've used Faceblox in the
past and have any data backups, screenshots or memories, or have any suggestions, please
contact us! We'll respond to every email.
It's coming back — and better than ever before.
We're hoping to bring back the Roblox forums, but in a modern & clean fashion. Posts will be organized in groups like a forum, but there will be algorithms & a social-media like feel similar to Twitter.
Using backups of the previous forums & blog, we're hoping to re-add all the old posts into the app for users to browse, and, for the first time in 7 years, reply to forum posts (and blogs).
Like the old Faceblox, users will be able to join groups specific to their interests to browse and post. They will act like a mix between Facebook pages and forum categories.
With Roblox's new public OAuth release, you'll be able to log in with your Roblox account. No messy connections or spam; your Roblox account is your account.
Link Roblox experiences or server links and be able to beam them directly into the app, no matter what device you're on. No unnecessary website visits required.
There's an infinite number of features we can add because we're building it from scratch. We're adding what we can think of, but let us know if you have any ideas! We'll try our best to integrate them.
